Increasing ASD Awareness, Communication & Understanding (Online)

March 11, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

HANDS in Autism® is partnering with Local Community Cadres (LCCs) to provide targeted learning opportunities that address regional needs for increasing ASD awareness, communication and understanding of the disorder.

The Next Steps™ Workshop provides participants with information about the characteristics of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities, considerations for all family members, statewide and local supports, rights and regulations, financial considerations, best practices and practical strategies available to support individuals on the spectrum and their families or caregivers, as well as collaboration pointers for working with your school and other providers.

Who Should Attend?
Originally developed to assist families, this workshop is great for a diverse range of community members, including: individuals with ASD, families and caregivers, education personnel, medical staff, first responders, as well as other community providers, supports and advocates.

While hosted in partnership with the LCC regions, this learning opportunity is open to all wishing to participate. Registered participants are provided access to an online Next Steps™ manual to support ongoing learning during and following the workshop.
