Your child’s third birthday is quickly approaching, and you have been told that your family will be doing some planning soon because the early intervention program ends at age three. This means your child may be moving from an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to an Individualized Education Program (IEP). During this training we will review all the necessary steps during this transition. We will explain the shift from a family-focus approach to a child-focus approach. We will also review the responsibilities of the parent. We will introduce you to state and federal terms along with providing you resources. It is important to prepare your child and your family ahead of time. After all, transition planning can bring great rewards for you, your child, and the professionals that work with your family.
